Nigeria: Police Intercept 163 Stolen Cows

Jalingo — Taraba State command of the Nigeria police, has intercepted 163 stolen cows from suspected cattle rustlers at Mutum Biu, Gassol Local Govern-ment Area of the state.

Speaking to THISDAY yesterday, the police public relations officer of the command, DSP Solomon Isa said a team of policemen acting on a tip off ccosted the suspected cattle rustlers in the area.

Isa said when the rustlers notice the present of the policemen; they took to their heels and abandoned the 163 cows. He added that the cows are now in police custody and investigation to ascertain the rightful owners of the cows is going on.

He said another team of policemen recently foiled an armed robbery attack in Bali Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, three locally made pistol and nine rounds of ammunition were recovered from the suspected robbers.

He advised people of the state to report any suspected cases of robbery to the police for proper investigation and called on those whose cow are missing to check with police at the state headquarter with prove of evidence.
