Tanzania: Mzungu Kichaa to Launch Debut Album

Arusha — Although Kichaa is originally from Denmark he is one of the pioneers of Tanzanian Bongo Flava. He has recorded with Juma Nature, TID, Mangwair, Ferooz and many others since the late 90s after joining forces with Bongo Records in Tanzania.

With the release of 'Mambo ya pwani' he topped the East Africa charts in 2001. This song was one of the first songs to take a traditional chakacha rhythm and fuse it with hip-hop.

He has been moving between Denmark and Tanzania for the past couple of years and has been promoting Bongo Flava Soundz. He will be launching his debut album in 2009 during his promotional tour with concerts in Nairobi, Arusha, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.
