Harare — SUNGURA giants Alick Macheso and Tongai Moyo have bridged their differences and are expected to meet soon to explore the possibility of staging joint shows.
Utakataka Express frontman Tongai disclosed this during a recent live gig at the Sports Diner, saying they would soon hold "talks" to improve their relations.
"Ndizvoka zvandaireva pandaiimba nyaya yematalks chero zvazvo vamwe venyu vakafunga zvisiri izvo (This is what I meant when I sang about talks even though this was misconstrued)," Tongai said, adding: "We have been friends, but some promoters passed distorted messages to us thereby creating a rift between us.
"We realised after meeting at Gwanzura that our friendship was still intact and we want to correct our past mistakes.
"We are meeting sometime this week to map a way forward and hopefully by March we will be holding joint shows to the delight of our fans."
Somandla "Mafia" Ndebele and Tongai thrilled fans at Sports Diner when they performed their yesteryear duet Moyo Wekurera.
The Assegai Crew and First Farai of the Secret Number fame also graced the show.
According to Tongai, he is hoping to release another album this year and maintain good working relations with other musicians.
