Angola: Luanda's Marginal Ready for Carnival

Luanda — The coordinator of the provincial commission of the Luanda Carnival, Manuel Sebastião, Saturday here assured that all is in place for the country's greatest cultural show, on February 22-24.

Speaking to Angop, on the fringes of a training session at Luanda's Marginal, Manuel Sebastião announced that everything was or continues to be made in order for the carnival be held without any constraints and bring results that satisfy the public.

Regarding public seats, the source added that beyond the cabins for officials and sponsors, the carnival's organisation has installed benches to accommodate at least 700 spectators.

Eleven groups in the infant category, 12 in ranking A and 14 in B (adults) will compete in the 2009 edition of the Angolan Carnival on February 22-24, which will also be a homage to the group "União Mundo da Ilha", winner of the previous edition.
