Osogbo — Wife of Osun State Governor and initiator of Women and Children Initiative Foundation (WOCDIF), Mrs. Omolola Oyinlola, has called on governments at all levels to leave no stone unturned at ensuring that poverty is drastically reduced in the country.

She made the call during the distribution of poverty alleviation materials in Irepodun and Boripe Local Government Areas of the state. Mrs. Oyinlola said the call became necessary in view of the need to improve the standard of living of people especially the less privileged irrespective of their sex, age, ability or inability. She noted that poverty could only be overcome in the country if all stakeholders joined hands together to tackle it headlong.

"My untiring call for programmes and policies that are designed to improve the standard of living of the vulnerable groups in our society is borne out of my desire to make life comfortable for them irrespective of sex, age, ability or disability", she said.

The wife of the governor disclosed that WOCDIF had already embarked on poverty alleviation programmes by training youths from various local government councils on various vocations and trades at the WOCDIF Vocational Training Centre, Osogbo.
