Damaturu — A member of the central working committee of Senator Usman Al-bishir, Alh Ibrahim Ali Gadaka, has said that Al-Bishir was in court with late governor Ali to challenge the Independent National Electorate Commission (INEC) for refusing to place his name and photograph in their election materials.

The Yobe state All Nigeria People Party (ANPP) supporters of the Al-bishir camp made the statement in Damaturu, the state capital, during an interview with LEADERSHIP SUNDAY.

According to Gadaka, Al-bishir is challenging INEC and the party for substituting his name even though he was a validly elected candidate through the primary election.

He said, Al-bishir took the ANPP to court for substituting him without cogent and verifiable reason which goes against the provisions of the electoral act, 2006.

He added that he was substituted for no just cause other than political conspiracy by some members who wanted to play God.

"My friend let me tell you one thing, this 'so-called government will go' no matter how they can do, Geidam must go by all means. We will continue to fight them because they came through the wrong way. We will never work together and we will never respect the government which is not legal. Our case is in court. I am sure we are to succeed" said Gadaka.

A member said that the Economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) is just a prosecutor, it can only charge someone in court if at all there is a criminal breach.

Only the court of law can declare anyone guilty.

Our governor in-waiting (Al-bishir's) so-called crime is that his company which is has a legal entity got a loan of N14 million or less from a bank bank didn't pay back whereas his company has been dealing with that bank for many years as a responsible customer.
