Lagos — Over 50 elite athletes from Kenya, The Netherlands , Ethiopia , Uganda and Eritrea will be arriving today for the 2nd Glo-Lagos International Half Marathon which holds on Saturday, February 21. Some of the big name athletes expected in the country include Luke Kibet of Kenya , Lornah Kiplagat of the Netherlands ,Tsegay Kebede and Gate Wami of Ethiopia . Others are Hendrick Ramaala of South Africa, Abdullah Ahmad Hassan of Qatar, Dieudonne Disi from Rwanda, Hilda Kibet of Netherlands and Tessema Absher from Ethiopia.
"We are putting together an elaborate airport reception for the athletes because we want to celebrate the sporting virtue of participation and to offer them the typical Nigerian hospitality which is very important in building the nation's tourism industry", declared a statement from the organisers.
