Nigeria: Kwara Donates N8 Million Materials to Edu LG

Abuja — The governor of Kwara State , Dr. Bukola Saraki has donated relief materials worth N8 million naira to victims of last year's flood disaster in Edu Local Government Council of the state.

Presenting the relief materials to the traditional rulers at Lafiagi, Shonga and Tsaragi, the Special Adviser on Emergency and Relief Materials to the Governor, Dr. Yahaya Mufutau said that the relief materials were not to totally compensate for the losses suffered by the victims. He said when the bill on Hydro Power Producing Energy Commission becomes law, the perennial problem of flood would be greatly reduced. He thanked the state Commissioner for Environment and Tourism, Alhaji Ahmed Makama and the member representing the area in the state Legislature, Alhaji Liman Saidu for their positive role in ensuring the approval of the relief to the affected victims.
