Tunis — The first President of the French Audit Court,Mr Philippe Seguin, hailed on Thursday during a press conference in Tunis, "the well earned reputation of Tunisia's Audit Court at the international stage", as well as the country's " performance in terms of financial governance, which earned it second rank in terms of public spending, a result of the policy initiated by the President of the Republic", he said.
He also said that the Tunisian model deserves to be promoted in France insofar as the legal autonomy of regional chambers is concerned.
Mr Seguin noted the strong relations between both audit courts, evoking in this respect the holding end of March in Paris of a major meeting between Arab and European audit institutions, whose first gathering took place in Tunis.
The first President of France's audit court said that he had learnt "unsurprisingly" of Tunisia's recent ranking by the Ireland based magazine "International Living" as the best Arab country in terms of quality of living, adding that he had "always thought that there was a great quality of living in Tunisia" and that he was "glad that this ranking confirms the country's good reputation."
