Nancy Mathew of Kaduna State yesterday won gold in the women's 10, 000m race, a feat that drew widespread jubilation among fans of the host state.
Running in a pool of field that contained medal-aspiring athletes, Mathew, was a delight to watch as she clocked a time of 36.57.06secs, to beat into second place, another Kaduna athlete, Lydia Michael, who returned in a time of 37.52.54secs.
