Zimbabwe: NECs Redundant, Says Labour Expert

Harare — THERE is need for National Employment Councils to look at more active and pro-active approaches to industrial relations than to be obsessed with collective bargaining, according to labour expert Dr Godfrey Kanyenze.

Addressing hundreds of business leaders and directors at the Chief Executive Officers' Roundtable 2009 conference organised by KM Financial Solutions, Director of the Labour and Economic Development Research Institute of Zimbabwe Dr Kanyenze said NECs had become redundant yet there was more that they could do to contribute to the economy.
