Zambia: Kabwe Council Dismisses Director

KABWE Municipal Council (KMC) director of health and social services, Francis Lungu has been dismissed for alleged gross negligence of duty and incompetence with three Patriotic Front (PF) councillors protesting the move.

The decision to dismiss Mr Lungu was passed during a special council meeting of February 16, 2009 held at the Civic Centre in Kabwe and chaired by Mayor Jerry Chama, where three PF councilors for Bwacha, Chowa and Ngungu walked out in protest.
