The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security Dikgakgamatso Seretse has hailed the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS) for clamping down on crime.
Seretse praised DISS shortly before Parliament approved the budget for the Office of the President, which has two ministries - Presidential Affairs and Public Administration; and Defence, Justice and Security. The minister found himself under attack as MPs questioned reports of abduction of University of Botswana (UB) student leader, Kagiso Thutlwe, allegations of torture and illegal interrogation methods by DIS agents.
