Uganda: Handle Justice Choudry Complaints Expeditiously

Kampala — THE Uganda Law Society in December 2008, wrote to the Judicial Service Commission querying the appointment of Justice Anup Singh Choudry as a judge of the Uganda High Court.

The Law Society specifically wanted the appointment of the judge rescinded. The lawyers' body alleged that prior to his appointment as a judge in Uganda, Choudry had been struck off the list of solicitors in the United Kingdom in 2000, over fraudulent dealings.
