Luanda — Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, Monday in Luanda appointed a commission to lead the drafting of a "Master Plan" for the urban development of Luanda.
According to a note from the services of support to the President of the Republic, the commission will be coordinated by the provincial governor, Francisca do Espírito Santo, and includes as its deputy the head of the Military Office of the President of the Republic, gen.
Manuel Hélder Vieira Dias Junior.
The commission includes the head of the Civilian Affairs Office of the President, Frederico Cardoso, the Cabinet Council secretary, Joaquim Reis Júnior, and the head of Office of the President, Manuel Paulo da Cunha.
Among the duties, the commission is assigned to carry out consultations, identification, negotiations and hiring of companies of proved prestige to conduct studies on sustainable urban planning and drafting of architectonic suggestions for the Luanda urban development,

According to the note, the accomplishment of the above mentioned tasks shall take into account environmental, social and economic concerns.
The commission is also expected to articulate and facilitate the flow of information, cooperation and participation of the various organs, sectors and entities of the central and local administrations and report to the head of State on the development of the task.
The same document disables the ad-hoc technical team that had been nominated in 2007 to follow up the revision of the plan of management and urban growth of Luanda.
