The Federal Government of Nigeria, yesterday, tasked the Ebonyi state government to take up the challenge of embarking on the mass production of rice that would be enough for both local consumption and export.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Chief Achike Udenwa, who gave this charge in his office while receiving the Governor of Ebonyi state, added that the state governor, Martin Elechi on a courtesy call should take the advantage of the fact that rice is commonly produced by its local farmers, given the favourable weather condition for its production.
