The reconstruction of the Kumba Finance Building that was ravaged in the 2008 February upheavals has been included in the just-launched 2009 investment budget for Meme Division.

The building would host the Taxation Department and the Treasury Department also razed during the uprising, adding that the Finance Control Office would equally operate from the structure.

Ako also said the Divisional Delegation of Labour and Social Security would be constructed at FCFA 25 million and the Divisional Delegation of State Property rehabilitated at FCFA 39 million, all of which were burnt during the violent demonstration.

Besides, the Delegate said the budget envisages the renovation of MINEPAT and the Delegation of Agriculture and Rural Development. He added that some eight classrooms would be constructed for Basic Education and 13 for Secondary education in the Division.

He said some problems encountered in the execution of the 2008 budget was the general increase in the prices of construction materials and a shortage of cement, causing price hikes. On his part, the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Magloire Abath Zangbwala, said the physical and financial execution of the 2008 budget in Meme stood at 99.7 percent and 99.2 percent respectively.
