Harare — Hosiah Chipanga, popularly known as "Kwachu Kwachu", has finally made a breakthrough in taking his music to upmarket venues instead of the usual low-market ones.
After hitting headlines in the past weeks for wrong reasons when his car was attached for failing to pay his dues and at one time forming a controversial church, Chipanga's waning fortunes seem to be on the mend.
The Ndagaya hitmaker has expressed gratitude to sponsors who have made this noble gesture of according him the chance to showcase his talent in upmarket venues.
The Herald caught up with the sungura musician during one show at the Sports Diner recently where he talked about his latest achievements.
"I'm very happy with the sponsorship and I will do whatever it takes to make a lasting impression to all my fans and make everyone happy through music," he said.
Chipanga said, "kana vanhu vakati ridzira mumuti ndinoridzira chero vachifara nazvo."
"We are going to play music for everyone, my music is meant for everyone whether kumaDale-dale or mumaghetto."
"Ndiri parwendo. Ndiri muparidzi anoshandisa mumhanzi ."
Chipanga had of late been playing his music in small towns like Marondera, Bindura and Chitungwiza alongside Cephas Mashakada and Musekiwa Zanove.
"Kwachu-kwachu" added that last year he did not manage to release an album due to financial constrains but pointed out that he is working on something big for his fans.
