Luanda — Three months after the success attained in the first sale session at the gate of Cine Atlântico, in Luanda, Angolan rapper Yannick Ngombo once again on Saturday tested his popularity, as people flocked to the Independence Square, in the second sale session of disc "Mentality", which was reedited with 15,000 copies.
Smiling and always available for a talk with the fans, Yannick Ngombo, who last February filled the Municipal Stadium of Coqueiros, with more than 23,000 souls - in the first show of his career, reunited in this second session with a faithful public, who preferred to buy the original work at 1,500 Kwanzas in detriment of the piracy sold on the streets at the lowest price.
In this second sale session of the CD and, the signing of autographs, Yannick, regarded as the musician of the moment in Angola - his music plays in every radio station, party, and other places. The event counted on a strong presence of the police, to avoid the constraints noticed in the first session, where he traded 15,000 copies.
After an initial edition of 15,000 copies of "Mentality" was sold out in the first day, Yannick and his producer edited again over 15,000 copies.
With 17 songs, the album counted on the participation of musicians such as Matias Damásio, Yola Semedo, Konde, DJ Manya, Paul G, Nigga B, Clesse, Sandra Cordeiro and TotÃ', apart from humorists of Tuneza theatre group, Papa Ngulo, Chico Caxixo and Lembinha.
The work, which was recorded and mixed up in Angola, was edited in South Africa.
Yannick started his career in France, where he was living, in 1989, singing in free style. After returning home in 1995, he joined Mumú and Kitess and they formed Afro Man band.
