CONSULTANT Nephrologist at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Professor Albert Jaiyesinmi, yesterday said over five million Nigerians are currently plagued with health problems relating to the kidney, most of which are untreated.
Prof. Jaiyesinmi, who spoke to mark this year's World Kidney Day, said early detection of and good control of hypertension would reduce the large number of people developing kidney failure, stroke, heart failure and heart attack.
