Somalia: Unknown Gunmen Kidnap UN Aid Workers

Somalia — Three United Nations aid workers have been kidnapped in Wajid District in Bakol region in southern Somalia by an unknown gunmen, Shabelle radio reported on Monday.

Reports say the aid workers were preparing to fly from Wajid airport to Nairobi when they were abducted.

Wajid is under the control of Al-Shabab Islamists and it is not known the reason behind the kidnapping.

Unknown gunmen and clan militias have been targeting aid workers in Somalia and a number aid worker were killed in Somalia.

There is no word from al-Shabab administration in the region yet.
