Nigeria: Mimiko Appoints Kunlere Special Adviser

Akure — ONDO State Government has approved the appointment of Honourable Boluwaji Kunlere as the special adviser to the governor on political affairs and legal matters.

Hon. Kunlere a lawyer and former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State was born in April 1960 at Igbotako Okitipupa Local Government areas of Ondo State.

The 49 year old Kunlere graduated from the Ogun State University in 1989 and was called to bar in 1990 with LLB and BL Hons.

He worked as a career teacher before proceeded to the University. He began his political career as elected member of the Ondo Stae House of Assembly under the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 1992.

He was elected chairman of Okitipupa Local Government in 1992, state secretary PDP from 2001-2006 and a Commissioner representing South West in the Universal Basic Education Commission UBEC from 2005-2006.

He was the Labour Party senatorial candidate for the southern senatorial zone for Ondo State during the 2007 election. He heads the chamber of Boluwaji Kunlere & Co legal practitioner.

He was a former member of the Unity Party of Nigeria, Social Democratic Party, Ondo State Central Forum, United Nigeria party, United Nigeria Congress Party, and the New Era Alliance. He is happily married with children to Mrs. Elizabeth Oluwafemi Kunlere.

Also appointed yesterday was Paul Oguntimehin an engineer, as the Executive Chairman of the State Water Corporation.Oguntimehin, 63, who hails from Irun-Akoko in Akoko North West local government area of the state, was at various times, the pioneer General Manager of the Ondo State Electricity Board; the Director-General (Permanent Secretary)/General Manager of the Ondo State Electricity Board as well as the Executive Chairman of the Ondo State Water Corporation (1992-2003).
