Zambia: Ministry of Tourism Acts to Address Credit Crunch

THE Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources will this year start implementing additional revenue measures to mitigate the impact of the falling commodity prices as well as the credit crunch on the country's populace.

Delivering a policy statement on the estimates of revenue and expenditure for the year 2009, Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources Minister Catherine Namugala said following the falling copper prices, the Government had been promoting the diversification of the economy through the tourism sector.
