Angola: Deputy Minister Hails CAN2010 Song

Luanda — The Angolan deputy minister of Sports, Albino da Conceição José, said Monday in Luanda that the anthem for the African Football Cup of Nations (CAN2010), by the duo Filipe Mukenga and Filipe Zau, transmits the spirit of Angolanity sought by the event's organisers.

"Angola, country of future" is the anthem for the CAN Angolan will host in January 2010, approved by a jury led by the writer and official of the Ministry of Culture, António Fonseca.

Albino da Conceição, who was invited to sing parts of the song said he was satisfied with the lyrics.

He said the anthem for the competition will be felt by the population as something at the height of the event, as soon as they grasp the message.

Albino da Conceição, who attended the ceremony on behalf of the minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba, said the announcement of the CAN2010 song is one more step towards the completion of the whole programme.

Filipe Mukenga and Filipe Zau were backed by "Banda Maravilha" band.
