Nigeria: Commissioner Wants State of Emergency on Education in Taraba

Taraba State Commissioner for Education, Anthony Adda, has called on the state government to urgently declare a state of emergency on the education sector as a way of addressing the problems of the falling standard of education in the state, especially at the primary and secondary levels.

The commissioner, who appeared before the state House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts during its interactive session on status enquiry with ministries, decried the falling standard of education in the state which he said was occasioned by shortage of manpower and deteriorating infrastructure.
