Kampala — This is my night," Iryn Namubiru reminded the City Beat readers who had a chance to party with her at Silk Royale on Friday. It was a night where her fans wanted to know more about her.
They queried what happened between her and Juliana Kanyomozi. "There was never any beef between us," she made it clear. And if there is a good cause she could easily record with Juliana.
Singer Ragga Dee was also in the house to support her. Being a mother of two and staying slim, Iryn said she jogs and the rest fall in place. But for those who want to have a voice like hers, she did not have an easy solution. "For me it is just natural," she said. The less talented actually have to undertake voice training," she said.
What is hard to believe is the message behind most of her songs. Many of them have sexual innuendos. "The songs are clear and do not have double meanings. I do not have any obscene song," she explained.
But not all questions were made in public. Some of her fans walked up to her and talked to her for long. There were picture moments too. But before she becomes a hotel manager or a translator (her future plans) Iryn is not even half-way through her music career. She believes music is a profession from which no one can bow out. Her fans where lucky to be the first ones to listen to some of her latest songs.
But it was not only Iryn and her music that they got. They walked away with Club beer goodies while Bosco Kitandwe won MTN airtime worth sh100,000 for writing the best letter in the last issue of City Beat.
