1 April 2009

Warri — One person suspected to be a militant, was yesterday killed and quantities of arms and ammunition recovered, following a gun battle between an armed gang and members of the security Joint Task Force (JTF) a.k.a. "Operation Restore Hope," in Warri.

The bloody encounter took place at Ugbokodo, a riverside community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, when some armed men reportedly besieged the place in five speedboats. The incident is coming amid the task force's assurance to oil companies, other establishments and law-abiding individuals to disregard letters from any group threatening them with attack.
