Cancer, an abnormal growth of cell in any part of the body which mostly leads to death constitutes about 12 percent of all deaths worldwide.

In developing countries such as Ghana, cancer is among the three leading causes of death in adults. The major cancers in females in Ghana are cervical and breast cancer, which are found in the age group 35 to 54 years.
