Ethiopia: Conserving Natural Heritage Country's Top Priority - Ministry

Addis Abeba — Conservation of the natural environment and taking the right decisions on the issue imperative if the country is to safeguard remaining natural heritage and leave a world worth to live in for the next generation, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) said on Tuesday.

The ministry said putting in place the right conservation management practices was timely." Previously, many approaches were applied for ecosystem protection only over years and more and more, the single approach of "protection" and or the single approach of "afforestation" has proven to be not effective for it has taken out the role of man from the equation," said Juneydi Saddo, Minister of MoST at the national workshop on "Biosphere Reserve and Landscape Planning", held at Ghion Hotel here.
