Angola: 22 Tons of Explosives Destroyed in Southern Military Region

A total of 22,965 tons of explosive devices were removed and destroyed in 2008 in the provinces of Huíla, Cunene and KuandoKubango by the command of the Southern Military Region (RMS), with headquarters in Lubango, southern Huila province.

The information was supplied to Angop in Matala district by the commander of the region, gen. Apolo Felino Yakuvela, at the end of the first ordinary meeting that took place at the 6th Division of Motorcycle Infantry (DIM), aimed at analysing activities carried out in the previous year, as well planning actions for 2009.

Aspects related to work, tactic and technical control in the southern military region, its administrative work and patriotic, combative and operative education, among others topped the event's programme.
