Monrovia — A mammoth crowd of 14th Street residents over the weekend reportedly resisted Madam Mary Broh, Mayor of the City of Monrovia designate and her men after they had gone to launch their regular clean-up campaign in that part of the city. According to report, residents of the area physically engaged the task force in what they called "a running battle" throwing stones at them and raining insults at Madam Broh herself, thus making it difficult for the cleaning up campaign to continue on normal footing.

A thorough investigation is said to be on going as to what prompted the conflict between the Task Force and the residents of the area.

The Saturday fracas marks the second major attack on Madam Broh and her men since the task force began operations sometimes in February this year.
Recently, the Monrovia City Mayor designate, Madam Broh, has sustained serious injuries during fistfights with a resident of Front Street in Monrovia.

According to eyewitness in the area, the confusion erupted after a lady only identified as Pauline, allegedly rained insults at Madam Broh, who had gone to demolish some makeshift structures along the street.

Madam Broh nearly lost one of her fingers after she was severely bitten by Pauline in the attacker's bedroom. Meanwhile Madam Broh has vowed to remain vigilant in cleaning the city and its environs despite continued difficulties she and her group encounter in giving the city a face-lift.

The Task Force headed by Madam Broh was set up by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to help clean Monrovia and its environs. The Monrovia City Mayor designate and her men have been vigorously engaged in their clean-up campaigns, breaking down of makeshift structures in order to give Monrovia a facelift.
