Luanda — The inspector general of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), General Rafael Sapilinha "Sambalanga, Tuesday in Luanda urged the military inspectors to maintain the spirit of ethics, professional deontology and confidentiality toward the results obtained through the inspection and audit activities.

General Sambalanga made these remarks at the opening of celebrations marking the Military Inspector's Day that will run until the Sunday, date of its official institutionalisation.

"The staff belonging to the inspection in the Armed Forces should give priority to responsible conduct in performing their duties in order to enable tight monitoring in the supervision of resources made available to the security and defence organs of the FAA," stressed the high-ranking officer.

Under the motto with "rigour and transparency let us supervise the management of resources available to the FAA," the programme of activities also includes lecture under the theme "Military Security System", visits to the Office of Inspector General of State Administration (IGAE) and to the historic and tourism sites.

The Military Inspector's Day was instituted on 26 April 2005 by the Angolan Defence minister Kundi Paihama.

The ceremony gathered generals and senior officers linked to the inspection labour of the different military organs of the Angolan Armed Forces.
