Angola: Country At United Nations Forum On Forests

New York — An Angolan delegation led by the deputy Agriculture minister for forest resources, André de Jesus Moda, is attending since last Monday in New York city (USA), the 8th session of the United Nations Forum on Forests.

The meeting, to happen until May 01, is discussing two main topics namely "Forests in a changing environment" and "The meaning of the implementation for the sustainable forests management".

Forests and climate changes, combat to desertification, are some of the sub-topics being discussed in the session, which is also analysing the sources of financing, transference of environmental technologies, reinforcement of co-ordination policies and programmes, the special fund on forests, among other issues.

The Angolan delegation also comprises the director general of the Forests Development Institute, Tomás Pedro Caetano.
