Kampala — The religious history or legacy of Uganda has had implications for our social and political life. Where it has worked to divide us, it has been necessary for political leaders to stress our national identity which transcends religious or ethnic identities.
The phraseology in such discourse is framed using the word 'irrespective' - irrespective of religion, sex, or ethnicity. We are only too aware of the negative impact religious sectarianism has had on our political life.
