Cameroon: Turkey Business Forum, to Boost Globalisation

All roads will lead to Istanbul, Turkey from Sunday May 31 to Sunday June 07 this year for the 2009 edition of the Turkey International Business Forum. The forum, code name, Turkey-World Trade Bridge will be bringing together the world's renowned businesses both from the public and private sector with the view to promoting trade among nations within the framework of globalisation.

According to Wakue Moumbe Paul Valery, the Secretary General of the Turkish and Cameroonian Businessmen's Association-TURCABA, several Cameroonian businesses and the administration will be taking part in the forum. "The forum is an economic expansion", he told CT, stating that as the world's 15th economic power and the first destination for the world's direct investment, the Turkey-World Trade Bridge is a veritable arena for the Cameroonian delegation to attenuate the shocks caused by the global recession. "Turkey will offer an opportunity to restore economic growth", he said.

Meantime, the Minister of Trade two weeks ago officially announced the participation of the Cameroonian delegation in the forum calling on interested companies and business organizations to hasten up with preparations. In effect, Cameroon's participation is taken in high esteem by authorities of TURCABA. "Cameroon is one of the key countries that must be present in such a summit", Timur Tigdemir, TUSKON Head of the African Department stated in Istanbul on January 02.

The Turkey-World Trade Bridge is an initiative of the Turkish business and Industries with the support of the Turkish government. The participation of African countries in the forum is expected to enable them improve their purchasing power and enable them participate favorably in world trade. The forum will be marked by exhibitions, conferences, bilateral and multilateral trade meetings, visits of industries and factories etc.
