Luanda — The Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, Wednesday in Luanda appointed an Interministerial Commission to take epidemiological security and surveillance measures to prevent the swine flu initially detected in Mexico.
According to the services of support to the Angolan president, these measures of control, in compliance with the international health regulations, will be taken near the airport, maritime and road borders so as to detect, isolate and prevent the possible entrance to the country of people who are affected by the disease.
The aforementioned commission is coordinated by the Angolan health minister, José Van-Dúnen, assisted by his agriculture colleague, José Pedro Canga.
The commission includes the ministers of the National Defence minister, Interior, Finance, Territory Administration, Transports, Social Communication, Trade, Environment and Oil, Kundi Payhama, Roberto Leal Monteiro " Ngongo", Severim de Morais, Virgílio de Fontes Pereira, Augusto Tomás, Manuel Rabelais, Idalina Valente, Fátima Jardim and Botelho de Vasconcelos, respectively.
The commission will be assisted by a work team which is comprised by technicians of the referred ministries and report weekly to the prime minister.
The swine flu was initially detected in Mexico, but has spread to some American and European countries.
