Another Children's Day, May 27, is around the corner! To commemorate this special day dedicated to the world's children, Vanguard Media Ltd., publishers of the Vanguard newspaper titles, has chosen Wednesday May 20, 2009, to make this year's Children's Day evergreen in the memory of Nigerian children by organising the Vanguard Kiddies' Conference.

The Forum is an initiative to draw attention to the plight of Nigerian children who are not always given opportunity to air their views on matters that concern them.

In line with this year's theme, "Listening and Talking are Important to Raising Happy, Healthy and Vibrant Children", children from selected schools in Lagos State will talk on, "The Effect Of Good Communication on Development of Children.

Scheduled for the company's corporate headquarters in Lagos, the event will feature a presentation by the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola, who will be the Mother of the Day, while the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Sarah Sosan, is Special Guest.

Some First Ladies are also expected to grace the occasion as the event will also be a mothers' affair featuring a host of mothers from several walks of life.

A highlight of the day is a special appearance by Kenny KeKe Ogungbe of Prime Time fame. Other exciting activities are lined up for the Day.
