A record 44 companies have indicated an interest to invest in the multi billion shilling Nairobi Golf City development, Business Daily reports.
Expressions of interest came from US property tycoon Donald Trump, Commercial Bank of Africa, Associated Motors, Spencon International, TPD Serena, Premiere Flour Mills and Actis, among others.
The proposed Golf City will be located on a 73-acre land belonging to Kenya Railways.
According to Nduva Muli, Kenya Railways managing director, bids will be opened in one month's time and the US$600 million contract will be announced after technical evaluations.
The project will comprise a 100 room five star hotel, a 600 room four star hotel, a nine hole golf course, a golf club house with a modern gym and associated facilities, conference facilities, exhibition rooms, shopping mall, and an IMAX theatre.
