Ghana: Accra Becoming Even More Filthier

The rains are here again, and this season might just be the dawn of a beautiful beginning for the farming community in the country, and a nightmare for urban dwellers, due to the perennial floods that hit parts of the city each year.

Just a few rains, which is a prelude to the main rainy season, has already exposed the poor drainage system in the city of Accra. Over the years, some flood-prone areas have always been flooded, with houses submerged due to poor drainage systems, as well as rising ground-water levels, coupled with the nasty attitude of the people in indiscrimanetly dumping refuse anywhere, especially in the drains.
