Angola: French Bank Releases U.S.$ 350 Million for Social Projects

Kuando Kubango — The French bank "Societe Generale" has granted a Usd 350 million credit to fund social projects in Anhgola's southeastern Kuando Kubango province.

This was said Thursday in Menongue by the provincial governor, Eusébio de Brito Teixeira.

Eusébio de Brito was speaking at a meeting with officials of the company "Ango-Minex", which represents the French bank in Angola.

He said on the occasion the money will be used in the construction of hospitals, roads, electricity and water distribution systems and other key social facilities.

According to the governor, the situation in Kuando Kubango that still show the signs of the long armed conflict, requires the construction of more roads, schools and houses.

He said the Usd 350 million will boost development and progress in the province.

Attending the meeting that is focusing on investments in the province, are the prime minister's adivisors for regional and local affairs, Padrão Neto, economic affairs, Ana Cristina, the provincial deputy governors for technical and economic affairs, provincial directors and members of the local government.
