Angola: Filipe Mukenga Performs in Brazil

8 May 2009

Luanda — Angolan singer and composer, Filipe Mukenga, will travel to Brazil on Sunday (May 10), at an invitation from "Casa Grande" Foundation, to participate in the Portuguese Speaking Countries "Cariri das Artes" exhibition, set for May 12-16, in Nova Olinda, Ceará.

According to a statement that reached Angop on Friday, besides singing, Filipe Mukenga will talk about his music career and the history of the Angolan music.

Filipe Mukenga is also to perform in Recife and Santa Catarina, under Etnia, a Portuguese NGO based in Brazil.

"They are songs that were never recorded. This year I have completed 30 years of partnership with Filipe Zau and most of the songs written were not recorded in studio. I will sing some of these songs during the show", he explained.

Some of the consecrated songs and new hits of the upcoming album "Nós somos nós", will be released in Angola this semester. The album was recorded in Brazil, produced and mixed by Zeca Baleiro.
