Nigeria: FG Loses N38.85 Billion to Import Waivers, Says AGF

Abuja — Investigations conducted by the office of the Auditor-General of the Federation (AGF) revealed that over N38.85 billion has so far been lost by Federal Government as a result of waivers on imported goods and arms and ammunitions unaccounted for.

Details of the report presented at the ongoing investigative public hearing on Customs organised by the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise revealed that Government lost over N15.7 billion revenue from Temporary Importations at the Tin Can Island Lagos in 2007 alone.
