Uganda: Afrigo's New Home

Kampala — FOR all the fetid sewerage stench and foul smell unwavering Afrigo Band fans have had to put up during the band's live gigs at Club Obbligato in the past, there is finally a breath of fresh air.

The band has relocated to the former Little Flowers (next to Bat Valley) effective this week and, interestingly, it has since been christened Club Obbligato since the Obbligato name is a brand name carried by the band wherever it goes. The changes have also seen the popular Saturday radio talk programme, Ekimeeza which airs on Radio One, move to the new venue.

And if you still visualise Little Flowers as the dingy spot that is patronized by school-going teenagers, you are gravely mistaken. Thanks to Jomayi Property Consultants, who paid sh20m for its new swanky look.

Innocent Kalule, their publicist says the new venue with a unique VIP seating area has introduced a new weekly programme. Tuesday is ladies night, Wednesday is campus night, while the rest of the nights are dedicated to Afrigo band.
