Luena — Angola Telecom firm in the eastern Moxico province will this week launch a new telecommunication system comprising a digitalised centre with the capacity of 528 telephone lines, said Wednesday the company's director, Mbungo Lutumba.
Speaking to ANGOP, Mbungo Lutumba explained that the "new centre of the wired telephone network", dubbed "ADSL", has 400 lines connected to the internet in broadband and 128 others just for voices.
According to the manager of the telecommunication firm, the operation of the internet system is still awaiting the approval by the company's management board for selling the modems that are already in the province.
He pointed out that under the project of assistance to the latest legislative elections in the country, another wired telephones centre was dubbed "CDMA" was installed with the capacity of 1,500 lines.
Mbungo Lutumba said that the service will be launched as soon as the experts conduct a technical re-adjustment, scheduled for the current month of May.
The province will benefit from another system to be installed by a subsidiary firm of Angola Telecom called "Infrasat" for VSAT phones in every district and commune of Moxico province.
