Nigeria: N6 Billion Fraud - Ugbane, Elumelu, Aliyu Charged

A senator, a Federal Permanent Secretary and three members of the House of Representatives were yesterday slammed with a 156-count charge of fraud and criminal breach of trust before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Senator Nicholas Ugbane, who is chairman of the Senate Committee on Power, along with his House counterpart Mr. Ndudi Godwin Elumelu and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Power Dr. Abdullahi Aliyu were charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] alongside House of Reps members Igwe Paulinus and Jibo Mohammed. Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) Engr. Samuel Gekpe was also charged with them for the same offences.
