Somalia: ICU Says They Will Take Steps to Settle Tensions in Central

Beledweyn — Sheik Abdirahman Ibrahim Ma'ow, the chairman of the Islamic administration in Hiran region in central Somalia has said on Friday that they will take steps to settle tensions in the region in central Somalia.

Sheik Ma'ow told Shabelle radio that there have been some tensions in Hiran region recently specially Mahas and other residents in the region saying that they are continuing efforts to end the tensions in the region adding they will not accept anyone who tries to oppose the peace efforts.

The chairman of the ICU administration in Hiran region Sheik Andirahman Ma'ow said that it is very important to end the newly started tensions in the region and called for the people of the region to take part the peace efforts of the Islamic Courts Administration in the region.

The statement of the ICU administration in Hiran region comes as clashes between forces loyal to the pro government Islamic Courts Union and other forces against them happened in the region recently.
