Few hours after the the campaign period was officially closed by Malawi electoral commission at exactly 6:00 am Sunday morning, the campaign has now wore a new face as people have now started using SMS's to caught voters attention.
Random interviews conducted within the city of Blantyre shows that out of 10 people 6 have received text messages asking them to vote for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) President Bingu wa Mutharika.
Among the reasons why people should vote for Mutharika include; President Mutharika is a visionary leader, loving and caring leader, God fearing, development oriented and a leader who has managed to make the country food secure.
Most of the people who have received these messages have complained that whenever they would like to call back the person who sent them the message, the number is always said to be busy or cannot reached.
Some people are threatening to take to task Malawi's leading mobile companies such as Zain Malawi and TNM, if no action is taken against those doing the acts.
There was no immediate comment from Malawi electoral commission on the matter.
