Eritrea: Security Council Accusation That 'Country is Arming the Ashebab Somali Group' is a Baseless Slander Designed to Escape From Achieving a Solution, President Isaias Emphasizes

18 May 2009

Asmara — President Isaias Afwerki said that the deliberate Security Council accusation that 'Eritrea is arming the Ashebab Somali group is a baseless slander designed to escape responsibility and achieve a solution.

In an interview with Egyptian State Television, the President indicated that any statements issued by the Security Council could not be taken as sacred quotations from the Holy Books, and that the prevailing problem in Somalia mainly emanates from the failure and mistakes of the United Nations, especially the Security Council to fulfill its obligation. Stating that the Council is not entitled to bypass law and legality in violation of the UN Charter and international law, he underlined that the Security Council itself and its illegal practices is the one that is not only violating the independence and sovereignty of a member state, i.e. Somalia, but also prolonging the suffering of the Somali people.

President Isaias further pointed out that Eritrea does not support one party against another, besides not interfering in Somalia's internal affairs. Eritrea's support is for the just Somali issue and the Somali people, and that this is both its legal and moral obligation, he elaborated.

The President went on to explain that the vacuum created in Somalia due to the Security Council's historical errors is becoming the source and ground for piracy and other illegal activities. If peace and stability is to prevail in the region through resolving such malaises, the vacuum should be done away with, and that this could only be achieved by creating conducive ground for the Somali people to resolve their issue themselves, he stressed.

Noting that the solution lies in addressing the root cause, and not the consequences, President Isaias indicated that so-called "governments" imposed on the Somali people from the outside which has no authority beyond Mogadishu and its environs is further aggravating the problem. In this connection, he explained that there cannot be any party that could give legitimacy to any "government" apart from the people of Somalia.

On Eritrean-Egyptian relations, the President asserted that there exists political desire on the part of both sides to further enhance the lasting and strategic relations. He also stated that there are a number of issues of mutual concern to the two countries.

The blood thirsty, life time dictators, mafia thugs & clowns of the AU were too busy messing around with Ethiopian street girls in the hotels of Addis Ababa (the headquarters of the AU), when Ethiopia invaded, occupied & looted the Somalia & massacred it's unarmed defenseless civilian families for more than three years. How is that these AU mafia thugs, all of the sudden earned the moral fiber, qualification & aptitude to preach to the world about Islamic or Christian insurgency, when these mafias could careless to lift a finger for a member state (Somalia) being invaded & occupied for three years by another member state (ethiopia)? What do the AU life time dictators, mafia thugs & clowns, who prosecuted & massacred more starving Africans in their own homelands than the Somali civil war, know anything about moral obligation to stand up & root for Somalia & peacefully resolve the Somali civil war, when they can not solve the wars in their own homelands? I suspect the AU mafias are paid, bribed handsomely to cover up for Ethiopian defeat & retreat from Somalia, by accusing anything & everything on sight? It's time for cry wolf,,, or they are just following orders from their former-slave-masters in America?

What is fact is fact, can not be changed. Eritrea is involved not because it feels for the Somalies but because Afeworki wants to use the Somali cause to attack Ethiopian intrerests. He doea not care if the Somali people exsist or not. It is that simple.

There are terrorists and there are those who aid them in their muderious rampage. America or not, those who blow up innocent people must be stopped. Those who support or arm these terrorists must be eliminated. I fail to see what mr mohamedjihad is making a point to. Frankly Mr Isayass Afeworki of Eritrea is a loon. He is crezy if you are one of his people, you know, if not ask and learn.

Somalia is not and must not become a battle groung for the Eritrean agenda. The only reason Afeworki is suppling and training terrorists is because he hopes to destablize Ethiopia. He does not give a hoot to what happens to Somalians. Wake up Mo, learn from those who know the Shabian afeworki. He will use you/Somalis as he used those who handed him his independance, the TPLF the current Ethiopian leadership.

Understand what and why the region is raging with fire for... then talk.
