Nigeria: Organizers Raise Hope on Arewa Festival

All the 19 states of the North and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been advised to take part in the premier edition of Gamji Exhibition and Arewa Festival of Arts and Culture because of the immense benefits they stand to gain from the event.

According to Musa Gado, the Managing Director of Gamji Events and Conferences Limited, organizers of the exhibition and festival, the occasion will offer a platform for the North to showcase its rich cultural heritage. The event will not only promote trade ties amongst Northern states but also encourage unity and peaceful coexistence, he said.

"The exhibition and cultural festival which will hold between May 24 and 30 at the Kaduna township stadium will offer business windows for governments and people of the North as international investors are expected to attend this historic event," Musa Gado further said. The event will be supported by Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture(KADCCIMA), Kabo air, Gado guest inn and Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists(NASSI). It will also be attended by UK-based investors like Mctina and Encours, Gado said. He also said 10 states had so far indicated their intention to participate in both the exhibition and festival of arts and culture. Former President Shehu Shagari is expected to chair the occasion while Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar will be the father of the day and Danmasanin Kano Yusuf Maitama Sule will be guest speaker, he added.
