Angola: Government Designs Creation of Ethnographical Museums

Mbanza Kongo — The northern Zaire province will soon create ethnographical museums in the local districts to collect, study, keep and publish the local cultural archives, reported Tuesday the provincial director of Culture, Biluka Nsakala Nsenga.

Speaking to Angop, in the light of International Museum's Day, marked on 18 May, the official stressed that the creation of ethnographical museums, across the region, will enable to get the knowledge of the daily life of each district.

To this purpose, he said, a study is in progress with view to assess the pieces in each district, whose officials in charge of the sector were directed to begin this process.

Zaire province has currently a museum, the "Reis dos Kongo", (Kongo kings) re-opened in 2007.
